Slacker League & New Free Agent Tournament

Welcome orientation into our Slacker League before the Fall season begins.

The Slacker League Free Agent Tournament is a 6-game summer session built for free agents, Adult Draft Card players, and prospective Slacker League players looking to get on the ice, make connections, and become part of the next wave of Slacker League teams.

The GOAL: form new teams!

Think of it as your Slacker League orientation — meet the players, learn the pace, showcase your game, and find your fit before the Fall season begins.

This is your chance to get in at the beginning of a new Slacker team. Help build the group, the team identity, the name, the jerseys, and the foundation before the Fall session starts.

This tournament is ideal for:

• Players seeking a Fall Slacker League team
• Adult Draft Card players pursuing a path into Slacker League
• Returning players rejoining the league
• New players interested in The Pond’s adult hockey community
• Current Slacker League players looking for extra summer hockey fun

Tournament Details

Dates: August 2 – September 6
Schedule: Sunday evenings
Games: 6 total games
Price: $150 for the full tournament
Level: Primarily C/D adult hockey players

Format

Over six games, players will skate alongside Slacker League players while league organizers help determine what combination of players could make up the next Slacker team or teams for the upcoming 30-game Fall season.

This is a great opportunity to meet players, learn the league, show where you fit, and start building a team before Fall.

Tier Scoring

This tournament uses Slacker League Tier Scoring. Players earn different point values based on their designated tier, creating balanced competition and rewarding contributions from every skill level.

The Free Agent Tournament is designed to help players connect before the next 30-game Slacker League season begins September 13, 2026

If you want to play this Fall and are not currently on a team, we are using this tournament to help develop new teams for the Fall Slacker League season.
